Prompt number eight from INKredible Inktober is “Fireborn.” That brought to mind the subject of today’s sketch. John Brown. Militant abolitionist who’s name was sung to the tune of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” after his execution in 1859.

Not going with an online prompt today. My nephew texted me that him and his class partner needed an illustration of Poseidon and asked if I’d do one. Couldn’t hardly say no to the kid, could I? Anyway, this is the result. He is happy with it and that is what counts.
From the INKredible Inktober prompts comes “Berry Picker.” This one got away from me a bit. Serves me right for trying to art the morning after a tussle with insomnia. But part of doing this is learning, so there ya go.
The Goon is a fantastic Eisner Award winning comic by Eric Powell. Fantastic, I tells ya! Shown here with his buddy Franky, the Goon runs the rackets in town. Or at least he tries to when he isn’t dealing with necromancers, zombies, skunk apes and all manner of supernatural shenanigans.
